I enjoyed looking at your website.

My mother, 83 and living in Bexhill, has a guide dog for the deaf - known as a Hearing Dog for the Deaf.

She recently took a bus to Pevensey and was refused admittance in every shop she went into, with the exception of the Bakers!

She has a dog with a clearly marked lead and special coat and a paper from the charity stating that she needs the dog to help her get around but still she was not admitted.

In London and Oxford there is never a problem - some shops in Bexhill are also living in the dark ages - and I wonder if you could mention this on your site.

Hearing dogs for the Deaf are specially trained animals, just like guide dogs for the blind, very well trained and taught to help her negotiate roads, tell her when smoke or fire alarms go off, telephone rings etc. - all the usual things that someone with no hearing could reasonably be expected to access.

With the new disability act I suspect that they might be liable to prosecution - as she said to me today, if I can't go into shops I can't go out. Shame, she wont be going to Pevensey Bay again and nor will we!
