Interpretation Boards for Pevensey Bays Beach
The Pevensey Community Action Group (PCAG) has been awarded a grant of £2470.75 towards the cost of providing five interpretation boards showing common flora and fauna which may be seen throughout the year on the beach. These will be placed at strategic access points to the beach. The boards will educate the wider public about the need to conserve internationally rare vegetated shingle and the importance of the foreshore as a feeding ground for wading birds; they will help raise awareness amongst the general public of the fragility of this environment. A series of walks will also be held once the boards are in place to explain the significance of the vegetated shingle following the loss of the important Crumbles site to development. The original art work created for the boards will also be used to create a leaflet which will be sold to support the local Information Centre which is run by voluntary contributions.
