Pevensey Recharge Summer 2004
Conscious that school holidays are not always the best time to doing the annual beach recharge, we attempt where possible to deliver new shingle either just before or just after them. On this occasion we now expect Sospan Dau to start work on Monday 21st June at Beachlands, before moving to Sovereign Harbour. The expected duration is 2-3 weeks, and as yet precise volumes and locations at each have not been finalised. It is however likely that the 10 groyne bays at the eastern end of Beachlands, and in front of the Sovereign Harbour rock revetment will receive most, if not all, of the new shingle.
Sospan is still working in Scotland so precise starting times will be dependent on completing her work there and a trouble-free sailing to the Channel. As things become clearer I will forward further information to you.
If you have any queries please contact me either by phone or email.
Best wishes
Ian
