2006 Beach - News - 18th September

Recycling at Sovereign Harbour has been completed and today work will start at Beachlands for 3 or 4 days.

Initially shingle will be collected from an area just east of the Kiosk and transported east to be deposited from about 400 Coast Road. This will only be taking some of the surplus shingle that has been deposited on the front of the beach crest and will not narrow the defences at all. Where possible the trucks will run on the lower part of the beach and so leave the crest completely unchanged. By Wednesday shingle will be being taken from in front of the campsite and moved west to complete preparations for winter.

I anticipate we will move to Normans Bay East on Friday morning, but will keep you updated as works progress.

Best wishes

Ian
