2007 Beach - News - 19th March

Beach recycling from Cooden has been completed for now and the next two days will see shingle from Normans Bay outfall being moved to Beachlands. On Wednesday activity will switch to Sovereign Harbour with beach being sourced from 'The Sandcastle', PBSC and from near the Martello tower.

The weather forecast for the week is for continuing northerly winds, so that although it will be cold, there should be no threat to the defences from Wednesday’s 8.0m tide.

A final transfer of shingle round the harbour for this winter will start tomorrow and finish Friday. Conditions imposed by Eastbourne BC mean that this operation can only be undertaken between October and March each winter.

Best wishes
