2008 Beach - News - 4th January

December 2007 was certainly better than the same period in 2006, although there have been several stormy periods. As a result some shingle needs to be moved in order to maintain the same standard of defence throughout the Bay. Firstly, shingle will be transferred from Langney, round Sovereign Harbour, and on to the beach to the east using Pacific Drive. This will start on Monday 7th January and be finished on either Thursday 10th or Friday 11th. Monday 14th will see the beginning of a short two-week recycle, with 2-3 days work at each of; the Harbour, Beachlands, Normans Bay East and Cooden/Herbrand Walk. Any change in weather patterns could mean a change to this programme, but updates will be provided as events unfold.
