Gale force winds are forecast for the Bay during late afternoon and evening
and although they should moderate by morning it doesn't look as though we will
have a wind-free week. Highest tides are on Wednesday and Thursday, although
at 7.3m Chart Datum they are not especially high. So at this stage I have no
reason to suppose there should be any problems on the beach.
Trucks will continue to move shingle this week, working from Normans Bay outfall
to Beachlands today, Beachlands campsite to Beachlands tomorrow and between
PBSC and Sovereign Harbour at the end of the week.
All machines are due to go to Seaford and perform a similar exercise for the
Environment Agency from Monday, but if the weather becomes worse than expected
requiring more shingle to be moved at Pevensey then we can delay their departure
by a few days. The other alternative is that they will return to Pevensey once
work at Seaford is complete if February's weather is anything like that we have
experienced this month.
Best wishes
