2008 Beach - News - 28th January

Seaford has apparently suffered from oil pollution and affected seabirds washing ashore (in addition to 'Ice Prince' timber we have thankfully largely avoided) which has delayed implementation of recycling there by a couple of days. We have taken the opportunity to retain the dumptrucks for an additional day and further reinstate shingle in front of the Harbour revetment. Even so there has been a significant loss of beach from the area since December.

All work will finish today, except for a bulldozer that will continue reprofiling through the Bay as necessary. Our respite seems to be temporary as severe gales are forecast again by Thursday - oh, and more rain.

Best wishes

Ian
